Quadcopter with a thermal imager

A drone with a thermal imaging camera is designed to detect and destroy enemy manpower and equipment in poor visibility conditions (at night, in fog, behind a smoke screen, etc.). The principle of operation of a thermal imaging camera is based on determining the temperature of objects caught in its lens. Thanks to a special sensor, it perceives thermal radiation and converts it into an image. Thus, the operator can recognize people, buildings, cars, etc. in the dark.

The main advantages of such copters include:

  • access to hard-to-reach and potentially dangerous locations;
  • efficient operation at night and in conditions of limited visibility;
  • prompt detection and control of thermal anomalies.

USMT offers to buy a quadcopter with a thermal imager for strike missions. Our assortment includes single and multiple drop bombers, as well as kamikaze drones. They are equipped with a high-resolution thermal camera. Due to its compact size and light weight, it does not create an additional load on the UAV. All models have been tested and are ready to perform combat missions.

The principle of operation of a drone with a thermal imaging camera

A drone with a thermal imager allows you to quickly locate and destroy the enemy by temperature deviations in the environment. Drones of this type are equipped with a thermal camera that provides excellent image detail. They operate in low visibility conditions, such as during night operations or in adverse weather conditions. The thermal imager is equipped with special sensors that detect infrared radiation and convert it into a picture.
The principle of operation of a quadcopter with night vision is as follows:

  • The infrared sensor reacts to the thermal radiation of an object;
  • the device electronics converts it into an electrical signal;
  • After the signal is processed, an image appears on the screen of the thermal imager.

Such devices are effective even in complete darkness. They allow the operator to quickly locate the target and attack it with the help of drops or an integrated warhead. Due to the inherent high maneuverability of this type of aircraft, they quickly reach targets while avoiding air defense.

We use a two-axis thermal camera with a resolution of 640×512 pixels for our quadcopters with thermal imaging. Thanks to its two-axis stabilization, it provides high image clarity. The camera responds to the slightest temperature deviations due to its high thermal sensitivity. The operating temperature range is from -20°C to 60°C. One of its main advantages is the automatic detection and tracking of thermal objects. It works perfectly in all weather conditions, as it has a ruggedized housing and reliable protection against dust and moisture.

How to choose and buy a drone with a thermal imager

Before buying a drone with a night vision camera, you need to pay attention to some characteristics of the devices:

  • Camera resolution. The higher the resolution, the clearer the image. We use cameras with a resolution of 640×512 pixels, which provide high-quality thermograms.
  • Frame rate. This determines the accuracy and smoothness of tracking moving objects. A higher frame rate reduces blur and smoothes the image.
  • Thermal imager sensitivity. High thermal sensitivity allows for better detection of temperature differences.
  • Image processing. Modern unmanned vehicles have a real-time image processing function and highlight objects with different temperatures in different colors. This allows the military to more effectively control the situation on the battlefield.
  • Dimensions and weight. Compact and lightweight copters are characterized by better maneuverability. When we talk about drones with a thermal imager, it is important that it does not weigh down the structure. That’s why cameras with minimal weight are used for Hunter drones.
  • Flight duration. The flight time is affected by the battery capacity. The higher the charge, the longer the UAV can stay in the air. Our drones are equipped with batteries with a capacity of 10000-15000 mAh.
  • Flight altitude. How high a drone can fly is determined by the engine power, model weight, and battery capacity. Usually, attack models operate at an altitude of up to 7 km.
  • Cost. The price of a drone with a thermal imager depends on many factors. First of all, it depends on the purpose of a particular model. Kamikaze drones are cheaper because they are designed for one-time use. Bomber drones can be reused with new drops, so their cost will be higher.

Models of drones with a thermal imaging camera from USMT

USMT offers various models of thermal imaging copters that differ in purpose, propeller size, and other parameters.

In general, there are several main types:

  • Bombers. The range includes FPV drones with 10-inch propellers. They can be equipped with one or more mechanisms for dropping explosives. The average flight time of such UAVs is 15-17 minutes. This is enough time to detect and attack an enemy target. In addition, some bombers have a secure communication protocol that allows them to fly under electronic warfare.
  • Kamikaze drones. These quadcopters (Hunter D-1, Hunter D-3) have a built-in explosive warhead and are used for quick strike missions. They also differ in terms of propeller size and payload. Thanks to the thermal imaging cameras installed on them, they can detect the enemy and its equipment even in poor visibility conditions.

We position ourselves as a manufacturer of high-quality and technologically advanced drones in Ukraine. Our products can be ordered with delivery to Kyiv and other cities in the shortest possible time.
