Batteries for FPV

Batteries are an integral part of FPV drones. The stability and performance of drones depend on their quality. To achieve the best flight results, you need to take a responsible approach to choosing a battery for your FPV drone. Our company offers a wide range of products of its own production.

Products from USMT have many advantages:

  • Long-term operation of UAVs. We manufacture high-capacity batteries that guarantee long-lasting operation of drones.
  • Safety. Our specialists carefully check the quality of soldering, the reliability of the fasteners inside the battery, and its packaging. Thanks to this, you can be sure that the drone will not fall near the operator and cause him or her harm.
  • Reliability. Special equipment is used to manufacture each drone battery. That’s why our products demonstrate stable performance and high efficiency on the battlefield.

In addition, our products are characterized by an optimal price-quality ratio. We control every stage of production to ensure uninterrupted operation of UAVs even in the most difficult conditions. Our FPV batteries are suitable for HUNTER drones and other popular models.

How to choose a drone battery

To achieve optimal performance and flight time, you need to choose a high-quality battery for your quadcopter. It must meet the basic requirements for voltage, discharge, and capacity.

Let’s take a closer look at these characteristics:

  • Capacity (mAh). This parameter indicates the amount of energy the battery can store. It determines the time during which the drone can stay in the air. However, it should be remembered that the capacity affects the weight of the battery and the maneuverability of the copter.
  • Voltage (V). The power of the drone depends on the voltage. The higher the voltage, the more revolutions the engines make and the faster the maneuvering response. The choice of voltage should be taken responsibly to avoid damage to the electronics.
  • C-rating (C). This indicates the speed of power supply or maximum current (A). The formula is used to calculate the maximum current consumption: Capacity x C-rating. For example, an FPV battery with a capacity of 10000mAh can deliver up to 90A continuously. A high C-rating is especially important for FPV drones. As such drones require a lot of power to perform complex maneuvers.
  • Configuration (S). Indicates the number of cells in the battery. Products with more cells provide higher voltage and performance.
  • Weight. To ensure an optimal balance between power and maneuverability, the battery weight should be approximately half of the total weight of the drone.

We offer two types of batteries on our website: 6S2P and 6S3P. They differ in configuration and capacity. The first one has a capacity of 10000 mAh, and the second one – 15000 mAh. The choice depends on the type and purpose of the copter.

How to charge the FPV battery

The proper maintenance of a drone battery affects its service life. Drones usually use lithium-ion or lithium-polymer batteries. They differ in power, current, and storage conditions.

To properly charge your drone battery, follow these steps:

  • make sure that the quadcopter is turned off and the battery is completely discharged;
  • connect the battery to the charger;
  • wait until it is fully charged;
  • turn off the charger and allow the battery to cool to room temperature;
  • connect the battery to the quadcopter.

The penultimate point is particularly important. Because the overheat protection system may be activated, which will block charging. It is also not advisable to leave the battery with a low charge for a long time. Especially when the drone is in the air. This can lead to various problems with the device and damage to its components. It is recommended to store the batteries in a dry place at room temperature. Do not store them near sharp objects or in direct sunlight. Make sure the battery is dry and cold before inserting it into the drone.

How long the battery lasts for a drone

The flight duration depends not only on the battery capacity but also on other parameters.

In particular, it is affected by:

  • type of quadcopter (kamikaze, bomber);
  • size of propellers;
  • engine power, etc.

Hunter drones with batteries of our own production can stay in the air from 10 (10000 mAh capacity) to 20 (15000 mAh capacity) minutes. This is quite enough to successfully complete combat missions. You can order ready-made UAVs or batteries for them with delivery to Kyiv and other cities of Ukraine.
